Milieu Artist Cooperative was founded in January 2009 by singer/songwriter Luke Brawner of then Fort Worth, TX based folk foursome, Poor Rich Folk. The purpose of this community, as the name would imply, was and is to be a place where artists, especially independent artists, can work in cooperation to help one another navigate through this relatively new and uncharted wilderness known as the “independent music scene.” In an age where the music business is changing so rapidly, the artists associated with this community do their best to be on the cutting edge of innovation with regard to building sustainable careers for themselves. They have toured together, recorded together, booked shows for one another, promoted one another, pooled resources and supported each other’s efforts.
